JAMES ROCILLO • Band Director
James is an Associate Professor of Music at Riverside City College (Riverside, CA). He conducts the Community Concert Band, RCC Jazz Ensemble, and is the director of the Marching Tigers.
In the world of pageantry, James has been on the brass staff of the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps (Concord, CA) since 2008, where he has eight DCI World Championship gold medals (2009, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2022) and four Jim Ott "Best Brass Performance" Awards (2008, 2010, 2014, 2022). James earned his Bachelor of Science in Business/Marketing from the University of Phoenix in February 2008 and his Masters Degree in Education from National University in May 2013. James resides in the Inland Empire area with his wife Sara, son Miles, and dogs Aki and Coltrane. |

Gary is an Associate Professor of Music, Emeritus and Founding Director of the marching band program at Riverside City College. Mr. Locke holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from the University of Redlands and a California Teacher's Credential from California State University, San Bernardino. He has been Vice President of the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association and has been a guest clinician, adjudicator, and guest conductor throughout the United States and Europe.
In May1990, Mr. Locke was invited to be a guest speaker at the annual National Convention on Teaching Excellence at the University of Texas at Austin. In January 1993, he was selected as the first recipient of the "HERO" Award, presented by the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce to the person responsible for bringing the most "positive publicity to the City of Riverside." Based on the above achievements, Gary Locke was nominated as a member of the National College Band Directors Hall of Fame.
Inland Empire Magazine selected Mr. Locke as on the of the "Top 25 People of the Past 25 Years" for its May 2001 special anniversary issue. He has also been inducted into the La Serna High School (Whittier, CA) Hall of Fame, signifying his position as being one of the most famous graduates. He has also been appointed as "Regional Chairman of Selection" for Youth Music of the World, a London-based event organization. In April 2010 he was presented with the "Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence" by the Riverside Community College District.
Gary enjoys his retirement in Southern California as an avid movie-goer with his wife Sheila.
